Often abbreviated as MCM, Mid-Century Modern Glass was manufactured from the late 30's to mid-60's. Some say the 70's as well. It is an interesting mix. Just as our country was going through many changes during that period, so was the glass industry. The manufacture of Depression Glass patterns was winding down, many Elegant Glass patterns remained strong and other more "modern" patterns were starting to emerge. Some of my favorite glassware comes from this category, including the Anchor Hocking Green Bubble Stemware that started my love affair with glass.
