Smith Glass company made the Bittersweet color from 1960-1973, Due to the swirling and color change, some people call it slag glass. It is actually an opaque amberina, shading from yellow to orange. It is a color that is unique to L.E. Smith. This is the Simplicity #1911 Line pedestal Swung vase.
According to the Smith literature, there is an indentation on the inside where you could put a very tall taper candle. Since this vase is 20 inches tall, you would need a taper candle at least 18 inches tall to just barely clear the top rim.
This vase is in good condition with no chips, cracks or stains.
